Weekend Reads is a weekly series on The Curious Passport and features a round-up of travel news, features and other related links (probably related to food, fitness or the outdoors) I’ve either found around the internet or has been sent my way by friends and family.

A few friends and I stop into the original Starbucks in Seattle during a Pacific Northwest road trip.
- “8 Luxury Hostels (Yes, Luxury Hostels),” Conde Nast Traveler – Now this is a hospitality trend my wallet can get behind. Affordable accommodations don’t have to mean boring, uncomfortable or questionable and nor would I want it to be.
- “Living in: The world’s top coffee cities” BBC Travel online – Taipei is one of the cities included in this article, which surprised me because I’ve never instantly thought “coffee” when I think of Taiwan (night markets and friendly people yes, coffee no, or so I’ve read).
- “How to beat post-vacation blues,” Darling magazine – The author offers a few remedies for the post-vacation blues. Otherwise known as wanderlust (which there is no cure for), I’ve found playing tourist in my own town and planning the next getaway, as the author suggests helps to serve as a Band-Aid.
