Saturated Saturday: Hanalei Bay, Kaua’i

Hanalei Bay, Kaua’i

As beautiful as some of Southern California’s beaches are, they are no match (not even you, Solana Beach) for the ease and beauty of the shores back home. Here at Hanalei Bay on Kaua’i’s North Shore, find a parking spot on the sand, the grass, the gravel so long as you aren’t blocking anyone in. Make like the kids and leap off the pier and into cerulean paradise. Admire the lush, green backdrop of surrounding mountains. Chances of spotting a waterfall or two: likely. Life was made for days like this.

Saturated Saturday: Sydney

Sydney Opera House

 

Seeing the Sydney Opera House in living color was surreal and oddly familiar. I’ve seen it many times in movies and magazines; maybe that’s why I had a deja vu moment. The iconic theatre looks as grand in person as it does in photographs. After a full day of rain the day prior, we were glad the sun came out to play to see us off to Melbourne, where we spent our last night before heading back to the States.

Saturated Saturday: Valle de Anton, Panama

No touchy touchy, unless you got the money 😀

 

Fresh fruits and vegetables abound in Valle de Anton, Panama. We took an hour bus ride (the kind that picks up passengers on the side of the road, even when there isn’t a designated stop) from Panama City for a ziplining adventure. This colorful market, which included an array of stalls selling trinkets and other souvenirs helped us pass the time while we waited for the bus back to the city after flying through the trees all afternoon.
