Hanalei Bay, Kaua’i

As beautiful as some of Southern California’s beaches are, they are no match (not even you, Solana Beach) for the ease and beauty of the shores back home. Here at Hanalei Bay on Kaua’i’s North Shore, find a parking spot on the sand, the grass, the gravel so long as you aren’t blocking anyone in. Make like the kids and leap off the pier and into cerulean paradise. Admire the lush, green backdrop of surrounding mountains. Chances of spotting a waterfall or two: likely. Life was made for days like this.

Saturated Saturday is a new photo series highlighting some of my favorite images, with enhanced vibrant colors courtesy of the photo editing apps I like at the moment. These include: VSCO, Instagram, A Color Story. Most photos taken with iPhone 5C.

Reading these travel stories in solidarity with the notion that safety is never guaranteed, and fear is merely a sign that we need to look more closely at our insecurities within:

In this final post in my three-part series of favorite New York moments, I reflect on nondescript moments that left as much of an impression as the trip’s highlight reel. Warning: the feels poured out of me in this one:
