  • “Should the 2016 Olympics be cancelled?” Conde Nast Traveler – All eyes are on Brazil, and not in the wanderlustful way they hoped. On the precipice of the 2016 Olympics in August, Brazil and other Latin American countries face the challenge of communicating solutions to the spread of the Zika virus while reassuring discerning travelers that they’re safe. Unless you’re pregnant.
  • “The Noma Way,” California Sunday Magazine – From Copenhagen to Sydney, the “Best Restaurant in the World” has uprooted to plant some 10-week long roots. Noma meet Australia, Australia, Noma. Those lucky Ozzies. Or rather, those lucky 5,600 who snagged a ticket within the first 35 minutes they went on sale. Good luck to the 30,000+ on the waitlist. In this piece, the author digs into the science behind this culinary sensation.
  • “4 Things to Know Before Visiting Iceland,” Darling – Iceland is having its spotlight moment, thanks to some heavy duty marketing these last several years. WOW Airlines’ stopover service to Iceland on the way to Europe is as impressive as the ubiquitous Blue Lagoon photos taunting me on Instagram. Five years ago I was Googling “Reykjavic,” after NPR kept running the same PSA. Now, everyone knows Iceland’s name.

Weekend Reads is an almost/kind of/occasionally-weekly series on The Curious Passport and features a round-up of travel news, features and other related links (probably related to food, fitness or the outdoors) I’ve either found around the internet or has been sent my way by friends and family.
